Dr. Claire L. Kruger
Dr. Claire Kruger is CEO and Director of Health Sciences at Spherix. With more than 20 years of consulting experience, her primary area of expertise is in foods, consumer products and pharmaceuticals, where she provides scientific, regulatory, and strategic support to clients in both the US and international regulatory arenas. She has conducted toxicity evaluations of foods and food contaminants, as well as health risk assessments and exposure assessments of drugs, cosmetics, and pesticides. Her clients include food, drug, and dietary supplement manufacturers, agricultural producers, biotechnology companies, trade associations, and law firms.
Dr. Robert Lodder
Dr. Robert Lodder is currently serving as President of Spherix Incorporated. Dr. Lodder has conducted mathematical studies aimed at solving the "false-sample" problem in thought-like operations on parallel processors. The parallel processing concepts have been extended to analytical instrumentation itself in the form of systems for hyperspectral integrated computational imaging (HICI), integrated sensing and processing (ISP), and magnetohydrodynamic acoustic-resonance near-infrared spectrometry (MAReNIR). The results of these studies have been applied to a number of different analytical problems, including near-infrared imaging, pharmaceutical quality control, and the detection of product tampering in foods and pharmaceuticals. These studies have also led to progress in noninvasive methods for analyzing complex biological samples. The new imaging technology is now being applied to in vivo studies of the role of selected proteins and lipids in atherogenesis, and has been used in three-dimensional imaging for astrobiology.
Dr. Wallace Hayes
Dr. Wallace Hayes is a toxicologist with over 30 years of experience in industry and academics. He is a consultant with Spherix, providing strategic, scientific and regulatory guidance for clients. Dr. Hayes also holds an appointment with Harvard School of Public Health. Previously, Dr. Hayes held the position of Corporate Toxicologist for RJR Nabisco with responsibility for all regulatory and toxicology issues related to the safety of ingredients and food contact substances for food and drink products worldwide. Subsequently, as Vice-President of Corporate Product Integrity at the Gillette Company, he had management responsibility for the safety evaluation of a variety of consumer products, plant safety, environmental stewardship, and quality control. While at Gillette, Dr. Hayes was responsible for regulatory and toxicology issues worldwide. All contact substances used in Gillette products (personal care products) were cleared within his division. Dr. Hayes has interacted with regulatory bodies worldwide including Canada, Japan, South Korea, EU and Latin America as well as the US FDA and US EPA.
Dr. Yongming Lu
Dr. Yongming Lu is a Manager at Spherix. With more than 18 years of experience in analytical chemistry, biochemical and environmental engineering, he has an expertise is in the development of upstream and downstream biotechnology processes. His specialized areas of study and practical application include microbial, mammalian and plant cell culture, immobilization technology, and bioreactor and bioreaction kinetics. Dr. Lu has extensive experience in the evaluation of production processes as they relate to the evaluation of safety for production of foods, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, and cosmetics.
Dr. Govinder Flora
Dr. Govinder Flora is a Manager at Spherix. With more than 15 years of experience in the area of biochemical toxicology, neuroscience and molecular biology, his primary area of expertise is in molecular and cellular neuroscience, biochemical toxicology of heavy metals, drugs of abuse and biodefense vaccine and therapeutics development. He has extensive experience in designing, execution and analyzing non-clinical product developmental studies.
